Youth Job Connection
 
Paid pre-employment training, job opportunities and mentorship for youth aged 15 to 29 who are not working and not in full time school or training. 
 
Program Includes:
  60 hours of paid training to help you find and keep a job
  Help setting and reaching employment goals 
  Learn job search, resume, interview and other essential workplace skills
  Paid job placement to gain work experience
  Employment and training incentives to help purchase training/equipment needed to be
     successful in your placement 
  Continued support from mentors who want to help you succeed
 
Who can apply:
•   Individuals between the ages of 15 and 29 who are not working or in full time school or
     training
•   Individuals who face challenging life situations or barriers to employment
     (marginalization, disabilities/disorders, poverty, lack of education, lack of work
     experience, language barriers, etc.)
 
Intake Dates:
 
Exeter CEL  –  September 2017
Goderich CEL – November 2017 
 
 
Youth Job Connection - Summer
 
Paid pre-employment training, job opportunities and mentorship for youth aged 15-18 who are currently in school and are planning to return after the summer. 
 
Program Includes:
  20 hours of paid training to help you find and keep a job
  Help setting employment goals
•   Learn job search, resume, interview and other essential workplace skills
  Paid job placement to gain valuable work experience
•   Employment and training incentives to help purchase training/equipment needed to be
     successful in your placement 
  Continued support from mentors who want to help you succeed
 
Who can apply:

  Individuals between the ages of 15 and 18 who currently in school and are planning to
     return to school (high school or post-secondary) after the summer

  Individuals who face challenging life situations or barriers to employment
     (marginalization, disabilities/disorders, poverty, lack of education, lack of work
     experience, language barriers, etc.)

Intake Dates:

Exeter CEL – May 6, 7 and 8, 2017
Goderich CEL – June 9, 10 and 11, 2017

Youth Job Link
 
This program is designed to help youth, including students, aged 15 to 29, who do not face significant barriers to employment, but who could benefit from some extra help to plan their careers and transition to the labour market. 
 
Program Includes:
  Career exploration services to increase knowledge of career options and support

     career decision-making
  Career management services to improve readiness for the labour market
  Job search, readiness and matching assistance to connect youth with employers
     offering employment opportunities, including summer jobs

  Some employment/training incentives available to individuals who have no work
     experience

Reach for Success
 
"Helping youth overcome barriers through employability skills training and real-life job experience."
 
Paid pre-employment training, job opportunities and career coaching for youth aged 15-30 who are not working and not in full-time school or training.
 
Program Includes:
 
  • 4 weeks of paid group employability workshops
  • 8 weeks of paid job placement with a local employer
  • Participants will be paid the equivalent to the Ontario Minimum Wage
  • Help setting and reaching employment goals
  • Learn job search, resume, interview and other essential workplace skills
  • Employment and training incentives to help purchase training/equipment needed to be successful in your placement
  • Opportunity to obtain certification in: First Aid/CPR, Safe Food Handling, WHMIS, Smart Serve, Customer Service Excellence, and Soft Skill Solutions
  • Continued support from Project Coordinators who want to help you be successful, including job maintenance and career coaching
 
Who Can Apply?
 
  • Youth between 15 and 30 years of age
  • Youth out of work/school/training and in need of assistance to gain workplace skills and experience
  • Youth legally entitled to work in Canada

Clinton CEL – March 27 to June 16, 2017
