Classroom - ESL Classes
Many ESL classes remain online. Online learning is fun and flexible! Some in-person options are now available in some locations.
English as a Second Language
The Centres for Employment & Learning of Avon Maitland offer English as a Second Language programs. The programs are conducted in a classroom setting and are specifically designed to offer assistance to adults in the community for whom English is not their first language but who would like to:
- Listen, speak, read and write in English
- Improve communication and employability skills
- Increase knowledge of Canada
There is no charge for eligible learners.
New students start weekly.
Please bring proof of immigration and residency.

Online classes use Zoom and Google Classroom.
To access online classes, students need to have a device with internet access (tablet or computer or phone), be able to log in to an online platform, attend class regularly, and complete assignments.
